Panama City Beach Flag Warning System - Flag Color Meanings

Don't get in the water!Double Red Flag

Very High Hazard and WATER CLOSED TO PUBLIC. Stay out of the water when double red flags are flying or face a fine or arrest.

High hazardSingle Red Flag

High Hazard with high surf and strong currents.

Medium HazardYellow Flag

Medium Hazard with moderate surf and/or strong currents.

Low HazardGreen Flag

Low Hazard with calm conditions, but caution still advised.

Dangerous Marine LifePurple Flag

Beach Warning Flags DANGEROUS MARINE LIFE. Swimmers will see the purple flag in conjunction with another color, such as red, yellow or green. What is considered dangerous marine life for a purple flag?
