Beach and Surf Patrol have sent a beach flag status update today, April 4, 2024. Panama City beach flags are still Double Red. They changed to double red on April 2, 2024.
Double Red means DO NOT GO IN THE WATER!
Violating the Double Red Flag Warnings in PCB Can Result in a Fine or Arrest
You can be fined $500 for ignoring a double red flag, or arrested if you are warned and get in the water anyway during a double red flag.
Always remember that you have to check the actual flag at the beach before entering the water! Remember to always swim with caution and, an absence of flags DOES NOT mean the water is safe.
Depending on what end of the beach they start on, it can sometimes be a few hours before the flags are changed on this end of the beach.
