UPDATE AS OF NOON 6/23/24 — THE FLAGS ARE NOW DOUBLE RED….Please see the latest post!
Beach and Surf Patrol have sent a beach flag status update today, June 23, 2024. Panama City beach flags are still Single Red. They changed to single red on June 21 2024. A red flag means:
- High Rip Current Hazard
- Knee Deep is Too Deep!
- High Hazard with High Surf and Strong Currents
Important Things to Remember!
- Always check the actual flag at the beach before entering the water!
- Always swim with caution!
- An absence of flags DOES NOT mean the water is safe!
- Depending on what end of the beach they start on, it can sometimes be a few hours before the flags are changed on this end of the beach, so if you aren’t sure, check multiple beach flag sources! (See below)
