Beach and Surf Patrol sent a flag status update: Unfortunately the flags are back to Single RED today, December 29, 2019. We’ll update our status the next time Beach and Surf Patrol report a change in flag color. Always remember to verify the actual flag at the beach before entering the water!
There have been at least 10 drownings so far in 2019. Always be careful and respect the warning flags.
It can sometimes be a few hours before the flags are changed on this end of the beach, depending on which end of the beach they start updating the flags.
With a Single Red flag, the Beach & Surf Patrol will not force you to leave the water, but the water is hazardous at Single Red, so keep the kids and weak swimmers out of the water, and exercise an abundance of caution.
Always swim with caution and remember, an absence of flags doesn’t mean the water is safe.
