There’s still some light seaweed but its in patches which means clear spots come by as well. The surf was very calm bu a strong breeze created a light chop later in the day… not to mention made it challenging to keep the umbrella up! The sweltering heat was also held at bay by the steady breeze today. Despite the calm surf and no undertow the flag still flies yellow. Did they remove green from the flag lexicon and forget to send me a memo?
Well… I had been excited about trying out this Panama City Beach German restaurant at Pier Park for ages. Our neighbors from Atlanta were going to be down for the weekend and since one of them is German we thought what better opportunity. We’ve walked by the place many times and thought it looked really cute inside. The employees are all dressed up in their German get-ups right down to the waitresses with their tight corset thingies (think Swiss Miss girl working at Hooters). …
The muck continues to hang around. The water was calm today but wading out past the seaweed didn’t seem worth it. PS it’s HOT!
It’s a little hot today but could be a whole lot worse! The skys are mostly clear, the water is clear, and we’re down to a yellow flag. We’re definitely going to make some time to play on the beach today. Do those waves look rideable? Hmmmm….

Happy Birthday America! There’s not a lot of things that will get me up early on a Sunday morning. Once a year though the residents of Seaside (permanent and part-time) put on a really fun parade on the 4th Of July and it’s fun for the whole family! At first we used to drive all the way to Seaside proper to try to catch the parade at it’s endpoint but the last few years we have just found a spot on the side of the road and popped open the rear hatch. As you can see from the photos…we’re not the only ones! Finding a spot early in the route insures you’ll get lots of booty (candy, novelty glasses, and BEADS YEE HAW) before they run out down the line. It’s only about a 10 minute drive from West End PCB so we are sure to get there every year. You should too! See ya next year!
