Hello everyone! It’s great to be a contributor on westendpcb.com.
On my last trip down, I decided to spend a day (10/06/2011, to be specific) wandering around downtown Panama City Beach. I came across some workers preparing the sand pumping barge for service and took a short video. The scale of the operation is impressive.
So, Chris Pickle is a great long time friend from Atlanta. After exposing him to the sparkly little gem that is the west end of Panama City Beach he bought in and we now call him neighbor in 2 cities. Chris loves taking images and video, and as he is now sharing beach access 94 with us is a perfect addition to add some content and perspective to the site.
Here’s a video of them pumping the sand in from the sandbar. It’s a really neat process. I’m glad they take the time to do this. I guess this is where the property taxes go!
Check out the dozers spreading the sand! This is at our beach access (94) on the morning of 11/11/11. What a lucky day to get new sand! We’re looking forward to giving it a full test run when the weather warms up!

It’s a red flag at the moment, but I think they just haven’t made it to Beach Access 94 yet. We are at the very end of the beach and sometimes they start on the East end and work their way down switching the flags…..who knows though, there could be a rip current warning of which I am unaware.
The water is slightly murky…probably because of yesterday’s high surf and last night’s storm.
It’s the tiniest bit chilly (around 60 degrees at the moment), but the good news is that it’s sunny so it’s still a great day to be at the beach! I’m supposed to be working on a web design….I’m going to chalk this detour to the beach up to ‘inspiration’. 😛
It’s nice today. They skies are clear and the surf is mostly absent. The water is very interesting today. It’s crystal clear but there are big patches of heavy seaweed floating about. Very odd! The flag is, of course, yellow….shocker…
The hits just keep on coming. Though the hit is on a broken record. At least it’s nice weather we are seeing over and over again. I would sure like to see a green flag again some day!
Today was a lot like yesterday. The skies were clear so the sun got to put a good roasting on the beach. There was some surf, but nothing much. The water is staying mostly clear. A nice day to hang around on shore…
It was another hot and sunny day at the beach. The surf was showing signs of life today, and the water remained fairly clear. Flag remains stuck on Yellow.
It’s another beautiful day on the panhandle! The skies are clear and the sun is shining bright. This makes for a lovely site but of course it’s hot…but if you have to be hot, at least there lots of beauty to behold. This includes the water, today, which is holding clear. There is really light surf…a good day for sailing as you can see. Perfect weather, mild seas, no dangerous marine life…flag….yellow. Am I missing something??
